Employee Spotlight - Mohamed Ahmed

In our brand new series of Employee Spotlights, you get to meet our brilliant Unifii team members! This month we stay local to our London HQ to meet Mohamed - see what he had to say in our Q&A.


Meet Mohamed Ahmed:

Hi, I’m Mohamed and I’ve worked at Unifii for the last four years as a Senior Technical Consultant. I’ve been working with the ServiceNow platform for a while now and my current role lets me focus on the Portal side of the platform.


How did you become interested in the industry and how did you stumble upon Unifii?

I used to work at ServiceNow many moons ago, this is where I fell in love with the platform and the technical aspect of it. From there onwards I was keen to stay in the ServiceNow space, looking to specialise in a certain area of the platform and it's been fantastic working for a partner and seeing the way the platform benefits a variety of customers. As a Portal SME it is fascinating to work on the front-end of the platform for our customers and seeing the differences between them all!


What do you enjoy the most about working at Unifii?

What I love most about working at Unifii is that everyone shares the same vision for the company, wanting to grow with the company and this motivates us all to deliver exceptional results not only for our personal growth, but because we care for our customers. I love that there is a large amount of autonomy here in terms of acquiring new skills, coaching others and overcoming challenges as a team.


What has been the most exciting project you have worked on in your time here? 

I’ve enjoyed many projects over the last four years at Unifii, but the one that probably stands out the most is from back when I first joined the company! There was no portal team here at the time and with it being an area I was interested in, it gave me the opportunity to delve into the space properly for the first time. The Unifii team identified that this was a key area of focus for our customers and gave me the chance to be part of a specialised portal team! It's been a pleasure being a key member from the inception of this team and I am proud that our customers have massively benefited from this service!


Did your working life change much as a result of COVID-19?

Covid-19 has massively changed the whole culture of working for us at Unifii. The new culture of working from home was a bit of a challenge! I quickly accepted the new norm however, and adapted quite quickly to the challenges of not speaking to other teammates face to face. Also, I’m impressed with the amount of work that Unifii has delivered during this pandemic and despite the ongoing uncertainty. I do look forward to seeing my colleagues more regularly again soon like the good old days!



How do you see yourself growing in the next few years?

I mainly see myself continuing to support and develop the portal team and mentoring others, which I find super rewarding. On top of this I am keen to continue acquiring further skills and building on my current strengths. I'm very excited to work with the new UI builder in ServiceNow as well, so that’s something to look forward to!


What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy hiking and cycling - the past year has given me more time to do this! I love travelling and experiencing new cultures too so I'm looking forward to doing that again. I also enjoy meeting new people, so once we get back into the office hopefully I can meet the many new starters who have joined Unifii in the last year!
