Employee Spotlight - Julia Nikulina

In our series of Employee Spotlights, you get to meet our brilliant Unifii team members! This month we meet Julia, who has been in the Unifii family for almost four years - read more to hear about her journey.

Meet Julia Nikulina:

Hi, I’m Julia Nikulina and I’m a Managing Consultant at Unifii. I’ve been with the company since 2018 but have been working with ServiceNow since 2015. Previously being on the client side of things has been massively beneficial in helping me to understand our current clients’ needs & challenges, and how Unifii as a partner can help them to get the most out of ServiceNow. 

How did you become interested in the industry and how did you stumble upon Unifii? 

I’ve previously been a ServiceNow platform owner and involved with internal platform development. After seeing the extreme capabilities of ServiceNow and how it makes life easier for both IT and non – IT business functions, I knew that I was going to absolutely love working with the tool.  

I'm always trying to master new techniques and broaden my skillset wherever I can, so it was a natural progression step for me to start working closer with ServiceNow. Working at Unifii has given me many chances to learn from and work with top specialists, which I'm grateful for every day.

What do you enjoy the most about working at Unifii? 

As we all know – it’s not just “all about work.”  In the time it’s grown Unifii has really come to feel like a ‘family’ - they are always trying to support every individual so that they can do their best and enjoy working. You genuinely feel valued in this company, so I'd say this contributes the most to the overall enjoyment of my job.

What has been the most exciting project you have worked on in your time here?  

I think every single project is exciting in its own way, as I always learn something new and have an opportunity to expand on my skillset in some way. In return, that gives me more opportunities to be involved in even more complex projects. For this reason, I don’t think I can actually pick one! 

It’s fantastic to see clients being happy with the work we have done and always gives me tons of motivation  to start working on a next project. 

Did your working life change much as a result of COVID-19? 

I did really struggle with the shift to working from home at the beginning of everything. I was quite worried about not having face-to-face interaction with clients and colleagues for a while, as this is something I've always valued highly and looked forward to. However, I needn’t have panicked as Unifii did and continue to do an amazing job in handling this, from making sure people are comfortable and supported working remotely to organising social events and office meetups wherever they can. 

How do you see yourself growing in the next few years? 

Last year brought a HUGE amount of growth to Unifii. I’m grateful every day to be working with such talented and fun people – there's still an awful lot I can learn from them, whether that’s old colleagues of mine or recent hires. I just want to keep on progressing and improving on my knowledge of ServiceNow as the business itself continues to expand. It’s exhilarating to be part of a journey that’s moving so fast. 

What do you do in your spare time? 

I’m a professional musician, so my main focus out of work is to spend time writing songs and performing them. COVID obviously didn’t help with the latter part of this, so I’m thrilled to be getting back into playing my gigs.

I also adore reading and listening to books and podcasts, especially since the multiple lockdowns gave us all more than enough time for those!
